Courage.

Today, my topic is on courage. The trusty old dictionary says that courage is "the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, or pain."
Courage can come in many flavors; like ice cream! You can do something daring and brave like climbing Mount Everest despite your fear of hights, or go on an overseas voage to a distant land, even though your deathly afraid of water, and can't swim.

Nevertheless, courage can come simple and small too. It could be standing up for a friend, even though your friends might think differently of you, or not swearing, even when everyone else is. One of the parts courage can play in our lives is when we are faced with the desicion to stand up for what we believe in.

Sometimes it hurts to have courage to do what is right, but its worth it. When you have courage, you are telling yourself that you can do something despite your fears and pain. You can overcome what you fear most. Thats true courage.

Jesse Jackson said,“If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it, I know I can achieve it.” When we tell ourselves we can, we most certainly can. When we tell ourselves we can't, we most certainly can't. So next time your faced with the opportunity of a lifetime, or the small challenges that life gives you, try having faith in yourself. Be courageous.

School.

School is alright. Sweet & Sour. There are awesome parts of it, like Language Arts (believe it or not!), Art, Lunch, etc. Some of the stuff, not so much. I'm not saying I like school, but I don't hate it either. Its a mixture of good and evil, if you know what I mean.

One of the things I wish they would change about school is how much time we get to go to our lockers, get to our class, etc. I mean, I know I don't like to feel rushed when I have to take a tinkle break! Who does? My point is, maybe they could add a couple minutes on. Or, at least pursuade our teachers to be more sympathetic and merciful if we walk in a minute late becasuse we had to get there from the other side of the school! We deserve at least that, right?

Student Council elections are coming up. One of my friends, Sandy, is running for treasurer. I'm one of her campeign managers. I make all the flyers and buttons, hand out cards and candy and other doo-dads to the students, and make the people want to vote for her. But I've got competition. That, I'm not so exctited about. Maybe, just maybe, I might be lucky enough to make it out alive. Sure, I'm not the one running for the actual position- I'd never be crazy enough to do that - but still, there are some pretty mean people who do these things too!

Well, no matter the challenge, I'm ready to take it up (NOT!). Happy Campeigning!!

I Know, I Know.

Okay. So, I know that I already changed everything about my blog about five days ago, but I didn't like it! So, I changed everything up, again, including the backround, which is one of my old favorites. The 'Impact' font was just too hard to read, especially in that tiny writing that hides around blogs. I hope you will find the rest of these posts easier to read than before. :)
School starts in two days. Can you believe it?! Two days!! The problem here is that my brain still isn't in school mode... I don't know how I'm gonna wake up in the mornings!!! Oh well, better enjoy summer while you can, 'cause soon your gonna have a homework stack thats taller than you!! I decorated my locker like the beach. I made all the colors bright so that when its bleak and gray in the winter, at least it'll be colorful in my locker!! It looks pretty good, if I do say so myself!!

Beauty in the World.

I hope you guys like my new blog backround!! I was getting sick of the old one; I thought I needed to jazz things up!!

Well, you might be wondering why my post title is 'Beauty in the World'. I was reading my friend McKenzie's blog (Hi McKenzie!!), and her post actually inspired it. She was talking about how much she likes to capture the worlds beauty in photographs. I was on my playlist listening to one of my favorite songs, when I relized that it was called 'Beauty in the World'. The song is by Macy Gray, and I love it!! I'm A Runner.

I am officially, a runner! Well, thats what my mom told me...
Here's the story:
My mom goes jogging several afternoons a week. So, on Monday, I asked her if I could go running with her. She told me she was running three miles, and told me I might want to just ride my bike; but I was up to a challenge. So, we left. We jogged really slow, but it makes your muscles work harder, so we did. She told me that everyone can run, but not everybody is a runner. She said a runner isn't the one who wants to get there first to get it over with. She said it was the kind of person who cared about the journy there. I found she was right after a while. I really obsorbed the whole scene. It was nice. When she found me smiling after I was done, she told me she definatly thought I was a runner.

Now, three days after, my legs are really sore. Well, I guess thats what you get when your a runner. Oh, well!!

Locker.

Help! I have a problem! I want to decorate my locker, but I have no idea how!! I was thinking I would do a theme, but is that too tacky? Maybe I'll just buy some cute magnets and a locker mirror and call it good. Maybe throw on a few pictures?
Today, I saw the actual size of the lockers. They're long, but teeny in the width department!! How am I gonna fit all my books in there?! And then, I found out that these lockers are 50 years old, and don't open to well!! What if, on my first day, I can't even get the stupid thing open?! And then, what if I am late every day because I can't get my things out?!! That would be so humiliating!!
I went to the school today to register for this school year. I'm taking AP English, AP Math, Life Science, and Geography as my core classes. Then, for my electives, I'm taking year round Choir, and 3 twelve week classes; Art, P.E., and Spanish. I figured that would help me be well rounded.
So, are you decorating you're locker? Do you have any good ideas? What classes are you guys taking?? Anyway, your answers could really help me here!! Love ya!!

Harry Potter.

Okay, I'll cut right to the chase. There has been hardly anything on my mind except for Harry Potter. About two years ago, I read all the books and stopped on the sixth, because it looked way to long. Then, when I went to see Eclipse [which was awesome!!] I saw the commercial for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows; Parts One and Two!! That got me back on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!! I'm addicted. Its all I can think about!! I stayed up several nights in a row to read them, and I love it!!! I don't think about anything else! So, if you were foolish like me, and stopped reading Harry Potter, seriously try reading them again!!!
